Problem

Collectively we waste over $91 billion in prescription drug costs due to sub-optimal choices on part of the healthcare consumer.  This waste occurs because neither the patient nor the doctor has adequate information regarding cost and purchase options at the time prescriptions are written. Navigating costs is complex due to the wide variety of health plans, policies, discounts, coupons and mail options. It is not until patients are at the pharmacy that costs become apparent. At that point, changes to the prescription can be inconvenient and cause delays in treatment.
